The List

In the 2025 General Election, Virginia voters turned the tide against corporate dominance by supporting candidates who prioritize people, not utility monopoly profits. For the first time, the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and a majority of the House of Delegates were elected without the financial support of regulated utility monopolies Dominion Energy and Appalachian Power. This historic outcome marks a sea of change in Virginia politics and a clear rejection of the pay-to-play system that has dominated Richmond for decades.

Below is the full list of leaders who were elected without political contributions from utility monopolies (including 2025 winners for statewide office and the House of Delegates and winners from the 2023 electoral cycle for the State Senate).
